The fellowship program provides highly competitive support for college seniors, master’s degree students, and doctoral candidates who are pursuing a career in public service. The fellowships can be used for research or field experience opportunities through a variety of organizations throughout the year. The fellowships will cover up to one-third of tuition costs at any accredited institution of higher learning in the United States. To be eligible to apply, you must meet specific criteria including:

  • An international applicant must have a bachelor’s degree.
  • Applicants must have professional experience of at least five years.
  • The applicant also needs to have limited or no prior experience of work in the USA.

Application and Selection Process of Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship:

The Humphrey Fellowship Program for the session is open from 2023-2024 now. The applicants have to follow these steps to apply for this program.

Review and Confirm Your Application Is Received

Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows staff will review your application and notify winners by email. Winners will be notified by email and will be sent an invitation to accept their fellowship. You will receive a second email if your application is not selected. When you receive the second email, it will include instructions on how to accept the fellowship. Keep in mind, that accepting the fellowship is not the same as receiving funds. You must still apply to college, complete the financial aid process, and attend school.

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellows program announced the finalists for the 2023 program on Thursday, July 11. The 2023 fellows will receive funding for their work in November. Humphrey Fellows are awarded $55,000 per year for two years, as well as a full scholarship to attend the college of their choice. Once they accept the fellowship, fellows are required to work in public service for two years after graduation.
