Lumia 950, 950 XL users have been Complaining Of Wi-Fi Connectivity Problems: Microsoft lately launched out the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, hoping to sweep up the market, but the handsets came with a series of Wi-Fi connectivity problems.
Of course, users have started laying complaints to get Microsoft’s attention and get it to address the issue. Apparently, the fix is quite simple, but it isn’t a lasting solution: reboot.
“MY Lumia 950 will not keep or reacquire Wifi signals. It will randomly drop the wifi connection and I have to reboot the phone in order for it to reacquire. If I try to just manually connect to the wifi it will just continue to search and not find anything,” user BFuentes says.
The user also reports that trying to return to the Wi-Fi signal area, the phone usually doesn’t reconnect, requesting another reboot.
Unstable Wi-Fi connectivity has been more or less associated with Microsoft. It all started when the Surface Pro was released, and the problem continued on to the Surface 2. The Surface Pro 3 was expected to be free of the issue, but a few consumers seem to have reported about experiencing it. So far, the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book haven’t shown signs of Wi-Fi problems.
Some users have attempted to isolate the problem, and they found out that Wi-Fi connection is lost when Bluetooth is activated. This means that this could be related to how the operating system handles the network or used drivers.
A Microsoft support engineer responded to BFuentes, suggesting a soft reset as the solution. However, that obviously isn’t the case.
For now, Lumia 950 and 950 XL users will have to stick with frequent reboots for Wi-Fi connectivity. Microsoft has probably received reports about the issue, so the company might provide a fix in the next update.
