Like I already meantioned, to setup fingerprint lock on your WhatsApp you’ll need the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your smartphone. If you’re not sure of the WhatsApp version you’re using, then open up Google Play Store and check if there’s update available for your WhatsApp. If there is, then update your WhatsApp. But if there isn’t then great! You’re on the latest version.

Now, that you’re certain you have the latest version of WhatsApp, follow these steps on how to enable and disable fingerprint lock on WhatsApp

How To Enable Fingerprint Lock on WhatsApp

  1. Open WhatsApp on your Android phone and tap on the three (3) vertical dots (popularly know as More options)
  2. Next tap on Settings > Account > Privacy
  3. Scroll down and tap Fingerprint Lock
  4. Toggle on the Fingerprint Lock
  5. Finally, WhatsApp will ask you to toch the fingerprint sensor to confirm your fingerprint.
    Also, you can set the duration after which you will have to unlock WhatsApp with your fingerprint.. The options available are; Immediately, After a minute or After 30 minutes.

In addition, you can choose whether you want to show the message content and snder in the notifications or not.
