Android Battery Optimization
One of the biggest complaints people have about their Android (as well as iOS, Windows) device is that the battery doesn’t last long enough. We know how important our smartphone is and hence in this article we are conveying some tips and tricks to resolve the “BIGGEST COMPLAINT”. This article is more focused on conserving Android phone’s battery but you can apply some tips and tricks for your iOS and Windows device as well.
1. Turn Down The Screen Brightness
Bigger and brighter display is great for everything (gaming, browsing, watching videos, editing photos and videos etc.). And hence smartphone manufactures started making smartphones with huge, brighter display. But these huge displays consume lots of power to run. Turning down the screen brightness to a level that is low but comfortable will surely help you to conserve your device’s battery capacity.
2. Use Black Wallpaper, Theme
If your mobile has an AMOLED screen then using black wallpaper and themes will save your battery juice. Because in AMOLED screens, black pixels are unlit, so the more black pixels on the screen, the less power needed for the screen. A shorter screen timeout will also help to save your device’s battery.
3. You Don’t Need To Be Connected 24/7
Turning off unnecessary wireless radios will help you to save your battery. Location Services use lots of battery power. Turning it off will drastically save battery. Similarly, turning off Bluetooth, mobile data, NFC, Wi-Fi whenever you don’t need them will help you to save battery juice.
If you don’t need access to high speed data, then you should use 2G network instead of 3G or 4G.
4. Turn Off Phone Vibrations, Haptic Feedback
A phone takes more power to vibrate than it does to ring. And hence we recommend you to turn off phone vibration unless you really need that extra awareness.
5. Use Battery Saving Modes
This is the most effective way to make your phone’s battery last longer. To deal with low battery problem, every smartphone manufacturer, ROM developers started implementing battery saving modes on software level. For example, HTC has Extreme Power Saving Mode, Sony has STAMINA and ultra STAMINA mode, Samsung has Ultra Power Saving mode etc. Enabling them will definitely give you more battery backup.
6. Monitor App Power Consumption, Use Greenify
Apps like “Greenify” can maximize battery of your Android device. Greenify put unnecessary apps into hibernation, preventing them from using resources and power. When Greenify was first designed, it required to have root access of the Android device. But now it works with non-rooted phones also.
Android operating system supports true multitasking unlike iOS. And hence apps (threads) are always partially running in the background consuming resources and battery. To avoid this issue, you should remove unnecessary apps from your phone.
7. Don’t Fall Into Auto-Sync, Widgets Trap
Do you really want every single Google account update or email notification instantaneously? Because this is one of the major reason of battery drain. If you want to save your battery turn of auto-sync feature; same for widgets especially those connected to the internet for updates.
8. Underclock The CPU
Like power saving mode, this is also very effective method to save battery charge. But for this, you have to root your Android mobile. We do not need 2.2 GHz CPU frequency to run WhatsApp and in such situations we can underclock the CPU. Underclocked CPU will use less power to run.
These 8 tips and tricks will definitely make your Android phone’s battery last longer. If you know any other way to save battery, feel free to write down in comment section.
